  1. My new favorite breakfast spot is chalkboard on Lincoln. My fav spot for a extra dirty martini is tiny lounge. Best beer is at fountain head on montrose. My favorite dinner spot is- hmm can't think of one!? Thoughts?

  2. My favorite party spot is The Third Wheel Bar, Huron St. Homemade brews, great hamburgers and awesome peach cobbler.

For BBQ, Dad found this spot: Lillie Q's Urban BBQ on North Ave. They have 6 bottles of different BBQ sauces sitting on the table to slather over your pulled pork or ribs.

  4. Oh NYC- i landed at liguiardia a 8:30. By 9:15 I was sitting at the Grand Central oyster bar with a dozen east coast shells of deliciousness on there way . I really liked one from Connecticut. Thy were tasty little suckers much complimented by my blue moon to wash it all down.

  5. The highlight of my day in NYC was a tapas spot right by grand central. We shared a few things but pork belly sliders were a memorable bite. They served hooegarden in fish bowl size wine glasses, had an amazing meat and cheese platter and raw tuna mini tacos that were a surprisingly delicious. We ended the night at a nostalgic martini bar, sardi's, in times square- it was like walking back through time when you walked through these doors.

  6. Chicago Kalbi, Korean/Japanese on Lawrence turned out to be a delicious surprise. Private spaces for larger parties gave a homey place to enjoy family conversations which was mostly about food!

Unusual appetizers like croquettes (fried mash potatoes with meat in the middle), tiny chicken legs (deep fried with a delicious dipping sauce) and an onion pancake (my favorite)!

Individual grills were brought to the table along with thinly sliced meats, beef, chicken, shrimp, tongue (ordered by Kahinde (very brave) which we cooked to perfection, dipped them in unusual bbq sauces and gobbled up every smidgen!

The staff was helpful about what to order as well as checking on us often to make sure we had everything we needed. They sang happy birthday to our b-day boy and brought ice cream with a candle.

It was a great family adventure! Paul did his homework and research!
